DAY 1 : CHENNAI Sight seeing tour of Chennai, visit the museum to see the art and Bronze gallery, Fort Saint George presently used as the Secretariat office of the Tamil Nadu Government. Drive through the High court, Marina Beach visit the Saint Thomas Cathedral. Also visit Kapaleeswarar temple the biggest Shivan temple in the city.
Day 2: Chennai / Bangalore Tour the garden city, visit the Lal Bagh, a botanical garden with a wide collection of old trees & herbs. Also visit Tipu sultan's summer palace built of teak wood with floral designs on the walls and ceilings.
Day 3: Bangalore / Hassan Drive to Hassan enroute visit Sravana Belagola famous for its 17 metre high Jain colossus, GOMATESWARA said to be the tallest & most graceful monolithic statue in the world.
Day 4: Hassan / Mysore Drive to Belur, visit the Temple of Chenna Kesava, a manifestation of Vishnu. Later drive to Halebid to visit an ancient temple. Drive to Mysore enroute visiting SriRangapatnam. Visit the Fort, Tippu's airy summer palace, Dharia Daulat Bagh built entirely of wood
Day 5: Mysore Visit Mysore the capital city of Hyder Ali, Tippu sultan & the benevolent Wodeyar kings.Visit the palace of the maharaja (Wodeyar king). Visit the art gallery, drive upto Chamundi hill, Chamundeshwari temple named after goddess Chamundi,On your way back see the Nandi bull.Drive to Somnathpur, visit the Somnathpur Temple.
Day 6: Mysore / Bandipur Drive to Bandipur, a wild life sanctuary has rich wild life such as elephants, bison, sambhar, spotted deer, peacocks, bears, tigers panthers etc which can be seen at artificial lakes. Optional tour trekking, elephant & jeep rides to view wild life.
Day 7: Bandipur / Ooty Drive to Ooty Visit the botanical gardens, Also visit the artificial lake John Sullivan, St.Stephens church and the Ooty club built in 1820. Excellent view points are located At Dodabetta, elk hill, valley view & Snowden peak.
Day 8: Ooty / Cochin Drive to Cochin, enroute you will have the opportunity to take a train ride from Ooty to Coonoor (Please note this is an optional tour.This train operates depending upon the weather).
Day 9: Cochin In the morning you will drive to Periyar, which is also Known as Thekkay where enroute you will come across many a tea Plantations, the spice cultivations such as of black pepper, Cardamon etc.
Visit Cochin, then visit the Mattancherry palace also called the Dutch palace, St.Francis church the Portuguese Vasco-Da-Gama was initially buried & Santa Cruz basilica which has got some beautiful paintings.At leisure. (optional tour) witness Kathakali dance, the famous traditional dance of Kerala.
Day 10: Cochin / Kumarakom Drive to allepey, on arrival take a boat ride on the beautiful backwaters to Changanacherry. Drive to Kumarakom enroute to Kottayam one of Kerala's most prosperous cities covered with rubber plantations and dotted with churches.
Day 11: Kumarakom / Periyar Drive to periyar, visit the earliest Sanctuary set up in 1934.
Day 12: Periyar / Madurai Visit Madurai, a city more than 2500 years old. Visit the great Meenakshi temple. Visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace. Later in the evening witness a religious night ceremony at the Meenakshi temple.
Day 13: Madurai / Trichy
Visit Trichy, the Rock Fort is most famous landmark. Visit the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple. Sri Rangam. the tallest tower (gopuram) in Asia
Day 14: Trichy / Tanjore Visit Tanjore, visit the big temple known as Brihadeeswarar Temple
Day 15: Tanjore / Pondicherry
Drive to Pondy, enroute visit an ancient shiva temple at kumbakonam. Drive to Gangai Konda Cholapuram to see an ancient shiva temple. Proceed to Chidambaram to visit Lord Nataraja, Lord Shiva .Proceed to Pondicherry.
Day 16: Pondicherry / Mahabalipuram
Drive to Pondicherry city a one time French colony. Visit the world Famous Aurobindo ashram which has devotees around the globe.
Day 17: Mahabalipuram
Day at leisure - on the beach.
Day 18: Mahabalipuram / Kanchipuram / Chennai
Drive to Mahabalipuram which has Dravidian style of architecture. Drive to Kanchipuram, the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city of thousand temples. Temples of Ekambareswara, Kailasanathar & Sri Varadarajaswamy. Kanchipuram is also known for its world famous silk
